Annual recognition

2026

"We built our methodology winning elections. The research has to be fast and accurate, the advice frank, and the insight into how decision-makers think good enough to act on immediately. That's what we bring clients."

Evan Moorhead, Managing Director

About

Anacta's government relations advice rests on understanding how governments make decisions, not just their public positions. Its specialists provide polling and research, political intelligence, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and crisis and strategic communications. Campaign work covers contested approvals, regulatory reform and social licence. Clients include global and ASX-listed companies, industry associations and not-for-profits.

CEO David Nelson has worked on political campaigns, successful public-private partnership bids, mining licence approvals and regulatory change. Managing Director Evan Moorhead is a former MP, Director of Strategy to a Queensland Premier and ALP State Secretary. Special Counsel Justin Di Lollo ran Hawker Britton and Barton Deakin for almost two decades, then founded Hakluyt's Australian operation. Chief Research Officer David Talbot worked on Labor's 2022 federal win and was pollster to two New Zealand Labour Prime Ministers.

Research, strategy and engagement run as one approach, so the people designing the research also shape the strategy. The firm measures itself on outcomes, not activity. Anacta works from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, Wellington and London.
